No dia 1º de dezembro (sábado), os portugueses conhecerão as dez palavras candidatas ao “Palavra do Ano 2018”. Essa é a 10ª edição da iniciativa que, todo ano, elege o vocábulo que mais representa os doze meses que se passaram.
A eleição é com base no resultado da análise de frequência e do relevo que os vocábulos alcançam no quotidiano, tanto nos meios de comunicação social e redes sociais, no registro de consultas on-line dos dicionários e nas sugestões feitas pelos cidadãos por meio do site www.palavradoano.pt
O objetivo principal da ação é, desde o início, sublinhar a riqueza e o dinamismo criativo da língua portuguesa, acentuando a importância e a força que as palavras têm na vida individual e coletiva. A eleição teve início em 2009 com a palavra “esmiuçar” como vencedora.
Palavras vencedoras nos anos anteriores:
2010 – vuvuzela;
2011 – austeridade;
2012 – entroikado;
2013 – bombeiro;
2014 – corrupção;
2015 – refugiado;
2016 – geringonça;
2017 – incêndios.
Após a divulgação da lista, os cidadãos portugueses poderão escolher a palavra do ano até o dia 31 de dezembro clicando aqui.
