Letra de Winter
Winter |
Inverno |
The yellow sun | O sol amarelo |
Well, it took the hand | Bem, ele levou a mão |
Of a country boy | De um menino do país |
To a city in a far-off land | Para uma cidade em uma terra distante |
We made no mark | Nós não fizemos nenhuma marca |
No shadow at all | Sem nenhuma sombra |
On the ancient, holy streets | No passado, ruas sagradas |
Where I learned to crawl | Onde eu aprendi a engatinhar |
The broken and the bruised | Os quebrados e os machucados |
The young and the used | Os novos e os usados |
The sure and confused | O certo e o confuso |
All here | Todos aqui |
Words will then land on me | Palavras que aterrarão sobre mim |
Then abandon me | Então abandone-me |
Mangle, untangle me | Deforma, me desembaraça |
Leave me on the floor | Leva-me até a superfície |
Rhymes, they sprang in me | Ritmos, eles florescem em mim |
Summer sang in me | O verão cantou em mim |
But summer sings in me no more | Mas o verão não canta mais em mim |
Now I’m twenty-five | Agora eu tenho vinte e cinco |
And trying to stay alive | E tentando estar vivo |
In a corner of the world | Em um som do mundo |
With no clear enemies to fight | Sem claros inimigos para lutar |
It’s hot as hell | Está quente como o inferno |
We’re like butter on toast | Nós somos como manteiga na torrada |
But there’s no army in this world | Mas não há nenhum exército no mundo |
That can fight a ghost | Que possa lutar contra um fantasma |
The broken and the bruised | Os quebrados e os machucados |
The young and the used | Os novos e os usados |
The sure and confused | O certo e o confuso |
All here | Todos aqui |
Words will then land on me | Palavras que aterrarão sobre mim |
Then abandon me | Então abandone-me |
Leave me stranded | Deforma, me desembaraça |
In guard of the door | Leva-me até a superfície |
Rhymes began in me | Ritmos, eles florescem em mim |
Summer sang in me | O verão cantou em mim |
But summer sings in me no more | Mas o verão não canta mais em mim |
Listening to the cries | Ouvindo os gritos |
The strangers | Os estranhos |
The silence of the foreign grave | O silêncio do túmulo de estrangeiros |
Listening to the thunder | Ouvindo o trovão |
The sky is strange | O céu está estranho |
Stretched over everyone | Esticado sobre todos |
Listening to the tales | Ouvindo os contos |
The child sings | As crianças cantam |
That goes for days and days | Isso vale para dias e dias |
Listening to the calls | Ouvindo os chamados |
Shouts, frustration | Gritos, frustação |
At twenty-one | Aos vinte e um |
I was born a son | Eu tive um filho |
And on that day I knew | E a partir daquele dia eu sabia |
I could kill | Que poderia matar |
To protect the ones | Para protegê-los |
We put bullets in guns | Nós colocamos balas nas armas |
Or anything it takes | Ou levamos qualquer coisa |
To take a life until it’s still | Para levar uma vida que ela seja |
