No dia 14 de abril, Fortaleza acolherá a primeira edição do Valoriza, evento sobre tradução que tem por objetivo discutir e fortalecer os interesses dos tradutores e intérpretes do Norte e Nordeste do Brasil. O encontro acontecerá no Mareiro Hotel, das 9 às 17 horas, com inscrição no valor de R$ 60.
O evento, que tem público estimado em 100 pessoas, contará com palestras sobre a situação atual e o futuro da profissão do tradutor e do intérprete e também sobre como uma associação de tradutores pode ajudar os profissionais a vencer os desafios. Além disso, duas mesas de discussão serão promovidas a fim de debater os desafios encontrados por tradutores e intérpretes em nível regional e sobre a formação e os treinamentos para tradutores. A iniciativa é da Associação Brasileira de Tradutores e Intérpretes (Abrates).
De acordo com Juliano Timbó Martins, tradutor e organizador do evento, um encontro como o Valoriza “pode contribuir mostrando que aqui [Nordeste] também tem profissionais de qualidade e que não precisamos trazer profissionais do Sudeste ou Sul para trabalharem nos eventos daqui, já que também temos essa capacidade e mão de obra local qualificada. Também vai servir para estimular o estudo e formação de profissionais de tradução e interpretação nas universidades regionais daqui e mostrar que temos um excelente mercado local a ser explorado”, afirma.
