Cerca de 70% dos estudantes que concluíram o Ensino Médio no Brasil apresentaram resultados considerados insuficientes em português. Os dados são do Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Básica (Saeb), apresentados no último 30 de agosto pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC).
Os estudantes alcançaram, em média, 268 pontos, o que coloca o país no nível 2, em uma escala que vai de 0 a 8. Até o nível 3, o aprendizado é considerado insuficiente pelo MEC. A partir do nível 4, o aprendizado é considerado básico e, do nível 7, adequado. Na prática, isso significa que os brasileiros deixam a escola provavelmente sem conseguir reconhecer o tema de uma crônica ou identificar a informação principal em uma reportagem.
Desigualdades
Na média, 43 pontos separam os estudantes que pertencem ao grupo dos 20% com o mais alto nível socioeconômico dos 20% do nível mais baixo, em português, no país. A diferença, coloca os mais ricos no nível 3 de aprendizagem, enquanto os mais pobres ficam no nível 2. Embora mais alto, o nível 3 ainda é considerado insuficiente pelo MEC.
Entre os entes federados, o Distrito Federal registra a maior diferença entre os dois grupos. Os alunos com mais alto nível socioeconômico obtiveram, em média, 329 pontos, ficando no nível 5 de aprendizagem, considerado básico. Já os de nível socioeconômico mais baixo ficaram com 255 pontos, no nível 2, uma diferença de 74 pontos.
Os resultados também mostram desigualdades regionais. A maioria dos estados das regiões Norte e Nordeste, além do Mato Grosso, tiveram, em média, pontuações inferiores à média nacional em português. A exceção é Pernambuco, que ficou acima da média juntando-se aos estados das regiões Sul, Sudeste e Centro-Oeste, que ficaram ou na média ou acima da média de desempenho nacional.
Dos 26 Estados do país, onze deles, mais o Distrito Federal, pioraram os resultados de 2015 para 2017: Amazonas; Amapá; Bahia; Distrito Federal; Mato Grosso; Mato Grosso do Sul; Pará; Pernambuco; Rio de Janeiro; Roraima; Santa Catarina e São Paulo.
